Dr. Dan Mazur
Dr. Dan Mazur is a fellowship-trained male fertility specialist at Urology Associates. He is experienced in all areas of urology, and has specialized expertise in male infertility, vasectomy reversal, testosterone therapy, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease and Andrology/men’s health.
Dr. Mazur was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs. He completed his undergraduate education in 2007 at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign where he graduated summa cum laude and was a Bronze Tablet recipient. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University and then completed his internship and residency in urology there, where he was recognized for excellence in teaching.
Dr. Mazur went on to complete an additional year of training focused entirely on male reproductive medicine and surgery, as well as sexual health at Baylor College of Medicine with one of the world’s experts in male fertility, vasectomy reversal, erectile dysfunction, and testosterone therapy. This training is known to be one of the most prestigious fellowship programs in the field of Urology in the United States.
The unique technical challenges of microscopic surgery, combined with the joy of helping couples to get pregnant, led him down the path to this unique specialty. Dr. Mazur is known as an expert in understanding and treating men’s infertility issues. He is experienced in fertility evaluations and treatment. His training and experience in complex male fertility issues, allow him to provide the highest level of specialized care.
During his fellowship, he fine-tuned his surgical skills and specialized in microscopic surgery, which allows him to perform vasectomy reversals, microscopic sperm retrievals for couples are undergoing in-vitro fertilization or other fertility procedures. The microscope also allows him to perform procedures that can identify areas of sperm reproduction in the tubules or sperm producing chord structures to extract sperm in situations where otherwise, none is available. Additionally, as an andrologist, Dr. Mazur and his team can assist with other men’s sexual health needs – from male hormone management to sexual health therapies.
Dr. Mazur is one of only a few specialists in the Rocky Mountain region and in the state of Colorado with this training and expertise. He is connected with the others who trained with renowned male fertility expert, Dr. Lipschultz. They often collaborate amongst one another and are frequently consulted by general urologists for their expertise, as they are leaders in the field. Dr. Mazur works with the top fertility specialists in Colorado and is ready and available when they have a patient who needs his help. Mazur has published leading research in medical journals and presented nationally on infertility topics.
In his spare time, he is an avid outdoorsman, reader, and lifelong student, with a special interest in history.
