HB25-1259 is NOW LAW
Thank you for helping protect access to fertility care in Colorado

This new law ensures all Coloradans can pursue family-building options with greater security and without unnecessary barriers. Colorado Fertility Advocates (CFA) proudly supported
HB25-1259 because we believe every Coloradan deserves equitable access to fertility and reproductive health care. Our board, members (including many of you!), and other Coloradans who have benefited from IVF and other reproductive treatments courageously shared stories to show why protecting access to IVF and fertility treatments matters for all families.
Over 10,000 individuals voiced their support for this bill to Colorado legislators, and thanks to your advocacy, HB25-1259 was signed into law by Governor Polis on May 7, 2025. Learn more about the bill and why CFA supported it here.

But we are not done, yet.
Restorative (or “Ethical IVF”) is next battlefield

While national promises of “expanded IVF access” have caused confusion and delays for families seeking fertility care, attacks on reproductive freedom continue across the country. The latest front in this battle is the push for “Restorative Reproductive Medicine (RRM)” or “Ethical IVF.”

While these approaches may sound appealing with terms like “natural” and “healthy,” the reality is different. RRM and “Ethical IVF” often impose ideologically driven restrictions that limit patient care and access to IVF and other family-building options. As the American Society for Reproductive Medicine explains, “What distinguishes RRM is not medical practice but ideology.” These approaches typically exclude IVF on moral or religious grounds (not clinical evidence) and falsely claim that standard fertility care ignores proper diagnosis and healing, when in fact, IVF is often the only path to parenthood for many families.

At Colorado Fertility Advocates, we stand firmly for evidence-based, patient-centered fertility care for ALL families (not just "certain types of families.”). Just as we fought to pass HB25-1259 to protect IVF access in Colorado, we will join others in opposing policies and narratives that seek to limit reproductive care under the guise of “ethics” or “restoration.”
